0.5 fl oz  Ylang ylang (pronounced EE-lang EE-lang) is a tropical tree native to Asia, the essential oil is produced from the flowers. The tree is the Cananga odorata, and the oil is extensively used in making perfumes and in aromatherapy. In Indonesia, the petals are often strewn across a marriage bed. Ylang ylang is extremely effective in calming and bringing about a sense of relaxation, and it may help with releasing feelings of anger, and nervous irritability. It has a long history in skin and hair care products, particularly in Asia, where it is used to promote luxuriant hair. It is said to inspire romantic sensuality while soothing tension

In parts of the Pacific Rim ylang ylang, with its heavy and sweet scent similar to jasmine ( it's called poor mans jasmine ) is associated with weddings and honeymoons. We selected it especially for our Wedding Day soap, shea body cream and spray mist collection. Ylang ylang essential oil comes in three grades: All grades of ylang ylang essential oil have a fairly heavy scent compared to lighter scented oils, so they should be added carefully to a blend. Ylang ylang can easily overpower less exuberant scents.

Difussing it into a room can relax the tension of the room. Dilute with a carrier oil and can be mixed with other oils such as Bergamot, Chamomile, Coriander, Geranium, Helichrysum, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Lime, May Chang, Neroli, Orange, Rose, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Vetiver. Pregnant women or women breast feeding shouid avoid YLANG YLANG.
